SUBJECT: Maritime Security Concerns for the East and South China Sea

OVERVIEW: This session will include a briefing from the Japanese National Institute for Defense Studies (NIDS) researcher and former SOF commander regarding the Japanese Strategic relation in East Asia. The Challenges in formulating strategic documents, and the Origins of Japan's SOF. Participants are offered to consider the best ways to foster multilateral collaboration in the Indo-Pacific security environment without the benefit of a NATO like framework.
