Mr. Mark Hassler II

Director, DEVCOM International Technology

Mr. Hassler joined the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD in October 2015 and currently serves as the Command’s Director for International Technology within the Science & Technology Integration Directorate.

As the Director, International Technology, Mr. Hassler has oversight on all International Armaments Cooperation Technology Programs within the DEVCOM enterprise ensuring that participation meets the strategic goals of DEVCOM and the U.S. Army Futures Command. In this role, Mr. Hassler also serves as Director, U.S. Army Foreign Comparative Testing Program Office on behalf of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research & Engineering’s International Prototypes and Experiments Office.

Prior to joining DEVCOM, Mr. Hassler spent twelve years at the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, Aberdeen Test Center where he executed developmental tests in Commercial Aircraft Vulnerability, C4ISR, Ground Vehicle Performance, Ground Vehicle Survivability, and Naval Ship- Systems Survivability. He also spent time in the Commander’s Office leading Strategic Technology Development for Data Acquisition and Visualization. In 2019, Mr. Hassler was detailed to the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological & Nuclear Defense Headquarters and served as the Senior Advisor for Acquisition Analytics to the Deputy JPEO.

Mr. Hassler has won various awards to include: the U.S. Army’s Suggestion Program Award (2006); the U.S. Army’s Acquisition Award (2007 & 2008); the U.S. Army’s Greatest Invention Award (2008); the Federal Executive Board –Baltimore, Outstanding Supervisor of the Year Award (2011); the International Test & Evaluation Association –Francis Scott Key Chapter, Test & Evaluation Professional of the Year Award (2014); the Civilian Service Commendation Medal (2022); and he was bestowed the Order of Saint Maurice by the National Infantry Association in July 2021.

Mr. Hassler earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Salisbury University, Salisbury MD and a Master of Science in Executive Leadership from The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore MD. Mr. Hassler is a member of the U.S. Army Acquisition Corp and is certified in Engineering, Program Management, and Test & Evaluation through the Defense Acquisition University and is a member of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency’s Security Cooperation Workforce. In 1999, Mr. Hassler attained the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 238, Hickory MD.
