Chief Master Sergeant (ret) Lou Orrie is a 30-year active-duty Air Force veteran that has 20+ years of SOF experience at the squadron, group, wing, and major command levels. He spent the majority of his career as a MH-53J/M Helicopter Gunner in Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). Lou also spent time as a Weapons Load Crew Member, MH-60G Helicopter Gunner, C-17 Airdrop Loadmaster, Group Superintendent, Wing Command Chief (twice), and finished up as the HQ AFSOC/A3 Superintendent. Upon retiring from the Air Force, he went to work for Homeland Security Investigations, Department of Homeland Security, as a Computer Forensics Analyst where he spent the majority of his time gathering digital evidence against child predators as well as other suspected criminals. Lou earned a Bachelor’s degree in Security Management and a Master’s degree in Strategic Intelligence and Analysis. He also has attended several special operations courses such as the Joint Special Operations Senior Enlisted Academy, Dynamics of International Terrorism, and Irregular Warfare courses just to name a few. He currently spends his time between training for the DOD Warrior Games, enjoying time with family, and volunteering as a Director, Board of Directors, HQ Air Commando Association. Lou is happily married and has three children and five grandchildren.
