Colonel Christopher Leung

Director, Joint MISO Web Operations Center

Prior to serving as the Director of the Joint MISO Web Operations Center (JMWC), Colonel Chris Leung served as the Commander of the Information Warfare Task Force – Indo-Pacific (IWTF-IP). He also served as Deputy Director of Operations for Special Operations
Command Pacific (SOCPAC). He was selected for an Army War College Fellowship at the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies in Honolulu, Hawaii, and was the Branch Chief for the Army Psychological Operations Branch at Army Human Resources Command. As a Battalion Commander, he was the Installation Commander and Brigade Special Troops Battalion Commander at Camp Buehring, Kuwait. His Battalion provided theater wide support for: Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Military Police (Law and Order, and Confinement), Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear reconnaissance and decontamination, Engineer Dive (Underwater reconnaissance, construction and demolition). Prior to Battalion Command, Col. Leung was the Department Head, and Chair of the Military Science Department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Illinois. In past assignments he served as the Military Information Support / Psychological Operations Division Chief for Special Operations Command Pacific (SOCPAC), Battalion Executive Officer, Battalion Operations Officer, Director of Operations for a Joint Task Force, Detachment Commander, Company Commander and other company and field grade positions.

Originally from Hong Kong, Col. Leung moved to the United States during high school, and graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology and Industrial Distribution while serving in the Indiana Army National Guard Infantry. Col. Leung also earned a Master of Science degree in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He speaks Cantonese Chinese and French, is a graduate of the US Army War College, Army Command and General Staff College, Joint Combined Warfighting School, and the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School. He holds additional skill identifiers for joint planning, military deception, jumpmaster, joint qualified officer, air assault, special technical operations, and is a Project Management Institute (PMI) certified Project Management Professional (PMP®).

His awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (6), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3), Army Achievement Medal (2), Joint Meritorious Unit Award (3), Army Superior Unit Award (2), National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Marksmanship Unit Excellence In Competition Badge (Pistol), Air Assault Badge, Combat Action Badge and Master Parachutist Badge.
