Warrior Care Program - Care Coalition, U.S. Special Operations Command
COL April Verlo works for the Warrior Care Program – Care Coalition for United States Special Operations Command. She was formerly the Deputy Command Surgeon and Force Health Protection Officer at USSOCOM held the same positions at 1st Special Forces Command (Airborne) and Special Operations Command Africa and commanded the 5th Medical Detachment (Preventive Medicine) in Korea. April holds a Master of Science in Public Health from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College and is nationally credentialed as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist and Registered Sanitarian. She has published peer reviewed articles in The Journal of Special Operations Medicine and is pending publication of a book chapter in Critical Topics in Military Occupational Health. April has been fighting cancer since 2018.
